Trivia Rumble to Shake Things Up?
Thursday, July 15, 2010That’s right, I can make really awful puns as part of article copy too, and I’m not afraid to do so. I’m controversial, like Geraldo.

Professional wrestling. When you think of it, what is the first thing you think of? Yes, that’s right, me too. Trivial Pursuit! “Who’s buried in Grant’s tomb?” echoes mockingly in my head every time I see Cena, Orton or Undertaker on TV, and if you’re like me, you also have, following that echo, the replying echo reminding you that it was a trick question, that both Grant AND his wife are buried in his tomb. Bastard game makers!
Speaking of… that brings us to Black Dragon Games, and SimGary’s latest masterpiece, debuting to a thronging… throng… of fans who want a game that both stimulates their love of wrestling AND lets them prove to others that they do more than just mindlessly watch wrestling and get nothing out of it - they get TRIVIA out of it!

Paraphrasing directly from Gary’s post about the game on BDG, “the game is still fairly early in the development stage and some of the screens may not be exactly how they look in the final version”.
In other news, water is wet, and Trivia Rumble Mode is the main mode of the game. You choose any wrestler and compete in a rumble type match where you must answer questions about your opponents to eliminate them from the match. You will also have to answer questions about your character in order to regain stamina and defend yourself - this section is pending, so inclusion of mention of it is baffling at best.

Trivia Challenge Mode is basically an old school trivia game. You can choose between two types of games. The first one is called “Test Your Knowledge” and the second is “3-Count Challenge”. With Test Your Knowledge, you will get to choose anywhere from 10 to 50 questions that will be randomly taken from every wrestler’s profiles in the database as well as from the general non-wrestler specific questions. Once you finish the quiz, you will be shown your score. In 3-Count Challenge, you can choose from 20 to 50 questions to answer, but you can only get 3 questions wrong before you are eliminated. On each question, there is also a 20 second time limit.
A Wrestler Editor, Statistics, Options and Unlockables, mp3 audio and even video examples of some of the game’s features being demonstrated by “Gaz”, can be found at Black Dragon Games’ site proper, which you can reach by clicking here: http://www.blackdragongames.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=1372.
The BDG forums comments are filled with optimistic and appreciative comments and questions regarding the game, so kudos to Gary and the Black Dragons for this latest offering, it sounds like it is actually another quality piece of software in the offering. Perhaps it will help us nurse away our bitterness at never being able to see the Binogeddon Wrestling Simulator. If anybody can do it, Gary can! Good work!

So Much For Shoutboxes
Monday, July 12, 2010I guess PWSE doesn’t really need them anyway, as it gets approximately minus eleven visitors per day anyway, and any comments can be left on any of these main site articles, which no one does. Gary is pretty much the only human (also debatable) that lurks in the shoutbox, and for reasons perhaps better left unplumbed. But for all you other damnable assclown spambot Lolita-pimping braintards, piss off.
So again, does anyone have any recent information, suggestions, announcements, etc for the world of sims or dice games, etc. anything?

Speak Your Mind
Wednesday, June 2, 2010Okay folks, I’m going open-forum on this one, so to speak.
I know I haven’t updated for a while but there hasn’t been a ton to update on. There are a few things I need to post but can’t quite muster up the incentive. But for now, this is a chance for sim fans and makers and other interested parties to speak their mind, ask questions, etc. and such right here on this main article post, leave comments, etc. This has no particular topic besides wrestling simulators - so anything related to that or the PWSE. So what’s on your mind?

Sim Author’s Tools Added to Menu
Friday, April 9, 2010Hello sim fans!
Do you want to make a simulator? We can’t really quite grant that wish on our own, but we can get you started in the right direction, by adding a new section we call the Sim Author’s Tools, now available in our handy sidebar.
Did you know Microsoft’s Qbasic AND Quickbasic are both now in the public domain? Did you know they also have a Visual Basic 2008 Express edition available for FREE download? How about SmallBasic, a fractionalized version of VB made of just 14 keywords, for brand new newbies?
What free languages are there to program on a Mac? How about to load, run and save old Qbasic files as Windows style GUI apps? What if I told you there was more than one codeless drag-and-drop free graphical language that allowed you to make your own stories/games?
Although not exhaustive by any means, we also provide a few sites with tutorials and example source code of various kinds to help people get some samples and idea of how to do some things.
Interested yet? If so, I’d highly recommend you take a gander at the Sim Author’s Tools page, and don’t forget to tell us what you think, like or don’t like, etc!
